Project Description Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Client: Architecture for Humanity Aerial watercolor sketch is a visualization of the proposed new school/daycare center that will support fundraising efforts for this and other future projects for Architecture for Humanity. The proposed design exceeds the Department of Education’s criteria and provides its infant and adult students with a healthy and uplifting learning environment. There are 93 children currently enrolled at the school, from ages 2 to 6. The architectural program of the future building includes four classrooms, library, theatre, TV and activity rooms. Also it will include bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and a playground area. Thanks to a donated site, the daycare centre will also finally gain secure land tenure and be able to operate from its own, purpose built facility. Image © Scott Erstad
